Empowering healthcare workers for a healthier future.

Helping communities help themselves.

Revolutionizing community engagement and healthcare: research and academics meet community at Xavier.

Housed in the Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy, XULA VOICE is a team of faculty, staff, students, and researchers engaged in collaborative efforts with local organizations firmly embedded within our communities. Our academic community engagement initiative collaborates with a wide array of community partners, encompassing a diverse range of organizations and groups to ensure a broad and impactful reach. To address disparities around community health and education, we seek to improve the research and community engagement capacity of healthcare communities in the southeastern Louisiana region.

Community Outreach & Engagement

At XULA VOICE, we are deeply committed to the principle that collective effort yields transformative results. Our ethos is rooted in the power of community partnership, recognizing that collaboration is key to forging meaningful and enduring change. Our dedication goes beyond the realms of academia; it's about forging genuine connections with people, groups, and entire communities. We invite your questions, ideas, or even a simple dialogue to spark collaboration. Feel free to click below to discover more. We look forward to connecting with you and exploring new opportunities in community health, research, and engagement.

Vaccine Education

One of our primary objectives is to create, adapt, and refine educational material on all vaccines in a linguistically and culturally sensitive manner, catering to the diverse communities in Southeastern Louisiana and beyond. Our commitment is to develop resources in various formats to guarantee that this critical information is readily accessible and tailored to the needs of our community partners and their patients. By doing so, we aim to tackle health disparities and improve outcomes related to vaccine hesitancy across a broad spectrum of immunizations.

Acknowledging the challenges healthcare professionals face in staying current with best practices due to their demanding roles, we are committed to not only condensing and sharing the latest, relevant information in a manner that aligns with their professional and patient needs, but also to extending our focus to the education of minority students in clinical trials. Our initiative includes a dedicated effort towards community education, emphasizing the importance of minority representation in clinical trials. This dual approach ensures healthcare professionals and minority students alike are well-equipped with the necessary knowledge and understanding to enhance patient care and contribute meaningfully to the diversity in clinical research.
